In January 2024, lives were forever altered by an incident that should never have happened. During a routine examination at Pembury Hospital's Colorectal Department, a patient was sexually assaulted by an Associate Specialist. This traumatic event left the victim in a state of shock, disbelief, and profound distress.

The aftermath of this horrifying event has been overwhelming. The victim, already battling serious health concerns, including the possibility of a cancerous mass in their lungs, now faces the additional trauma of this assault. The anxiety and emotional turmoil have been relentless, compounded by the fear of encountering their assailant during an upcoming colonoscopy at Maidstone Hospital.

Despite the gravity of the situation, pleas for action have been met with silence. Efforts to reach out to the hospital, providing them with the police report number and all necessary details, have yet to receive assurance that measures are being taken to protect the victim and other potential victims. The sense of impunity with which The Associate Specialist continues to operate within the hospital is alarming and unacceptable.

This story is not just about seeking justice for the victim; it is about preventing future assaults and holding those in power accountable for their actions. Determined to ensure that no other patient suffers the same fate, a letter was delivered to the Head of Surgery and her deputy, demanding that be kept away from the victim’s procedure and calling for a thorough investigation into his conduct.
